Preface:

Arizona State University's College of Education Division of Educational Leadership and  Policy and the Navajo Nation Education Committee has entered a partnership aimed at filling the gaps in existing school administrator's program for school administrators and school board members working on the Navajo reservation. Both ASU and Navajo Nation Education Committee believe there are certain areas not covered, or not adequately covered, in existing university and college Education Leadership and Policy Programs. As a result of this belief this partnership developed the Navajo School Administrators Program. This course School Finance on the Navajo Reservation is a course that is a part of that program. This course is a second course offered with the first course being School Law on the Navajo Reservation.

The Education Committee of the Navajo Nation and Arizona State University have developed a nine-credit hour series courses at the conclusion of which a person would receive a certificate stating that he/she has successfully completed the Navajo
School Administrators Program. This certificate will be offered jointly by ASU and the Education Committee of the Navajo Nation. At some later date the Education Committee will develop their requirements for the certification of school administrators on the Navajo reservation. The Navajo School Administrators Program is a positive step in that direction.

Dr. Bob Roessel, Coordinator
