Horsemanship
The horsemanship program is designed for residential students, but is also a part of the academic program. It is equipped with horse stables, a large riding area, 24 horses, 3 wagons and all necessary gear. The program provides students the basic instruction in: Equine care, horse-shoeing, wagon set up, outdoor survival skills, riding skills, horsemanship skills and roping instruction. It also incorporates traditional Navajo teaching about the horse as part of the way of life. Students may choose to participate in 3 over-night trail rides per year.
